The Westfield Homeless Cat Project is a non- profit 501(c)(3)
cat/kitten rescue located in Westfield Massachusetts.

We are approved and registered with the
Massachusetts Department of Agriculture.

We are a no-kill rescue for cats and kittens that have been
lost/found, abandoned, abused and surrendered.

We do not discriminate against cats because of
age, or illness provided medical care is manageable.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home cats and kittens that have been abandoned, abused, surrendered, or just simply left to die.

We will use our resources to save and re-home these animals.
We will be their voice as they can not speak for themselves.

Our shelter is staffed by a network of volunteers and
survives completely on private donations, adoption
fees, tag sale revenue and an occasional fundraiser.

We receive absolutely no federal funding, state funding or grants.

The Westfield Homeless Cat Project runs 24/7 and has been the temporary home to thousands of cats and kittens.  These cats and kittens come here in every shape and size and in every condition imaginable.  Some are starving, some are injured some have simply been left to die; the lucky ones are the ones surrendered because their former owner can no longer care for them and has taken the time to find shelter for them while they await their forever homes.

In order to find forever homes for the overwhelming number of cats and kittens

that come to our shelter we hold an adoption clinic every Saturday from 11:00 am

to 4:00 pm at the Westfield Home and Garden Center on Route 20 in Westfield MA.   All cats are spayed/neutered and fully vetted prior to adoption and each potential adopter is required to complete an adoption application form.  As you can well imagine, the cost to feed, vet, neuter/spay and keep these animals comfortable is very high not to mention the gas it takes to transport them to and from the many helpful veterinarians in our area.  In addition we also participate in trapping, spaying/neutering and releasing feral cat colonies in an effort to stop the overpopulation of them in our area.
